“People weren’t running around having abortions, women were happy to stay at home and care for their children and husbands. That’s what I want to see America returned to. A simpler time when we had rules that kept things the same.”
- Rick Santorum
Rick Santorum is the scariest candidate running for office. If you are any form of a minority you should be VERY afraid of him. This includes especially, but not limited to, women, POC, and GLBT.
Luckily for everyone, just those three groups together are a majority, but it would require ALL of them to vote against him if he becomes republican candidate.
And if he does get elected, my only piece of advice is this: move out of America IMMEDIATELY.
I’m seriously starting to lose faith in men.
This whole ridiculous “War on Women” thing has made me realize how many men in my life and in general are sexist assholes.
What I need right now is for a guy to prove me wrong. I want a man from the government to get some balls and stand up and walk out of congress when they pass a entirely sexist and horrible law. I want a man to…I don’t know, be a decent guy.
It’s like men don’t understand that sex is much more risky for a women than a guy, so getting birth control is really important. And birth control has been proved to PREVENT pregnancy, and if you think it causes pregnancy you’re an idiot.
It’s like men don’t realize that rape and sexual assault is a serious issue and should never be turned into a joke. Being in any situation like that is completely terrifying. It’s not the person who was sexually assaulted or raped’s fault for being sexually assaulted or raped. Take it seriously.
I could go on, but thinking about it just makes me depressed.
Please, if you are a decent guy prove me wrong. I want to be proved wrong in this situation.

Happy women’s day, yo
What’s misandry, again?
Women perform 66% of the world’s work, but receive only 11% of the world’s income, and own only 1% of the world’s land.
Women make up 66% of the world’s illiterate adults.
Women head 83% of single-parent families. The number of families nurtured by women alone doubled from 1970 to 1995 (from 5.6 million to 12.2 million).
Women account for 55% of all college students, but even when women have equal years of education it does not translate into economic opportunities or political power.
There are six million more women than men in the world.
Two-thirds of the world’s children who receive less than four years of education are girls. Girls represent nearly 60% of the children not in school.
Parents in countries such as China and India sometimes use sex determination tests to find out if their fetus is a girl. Of 8,000 fetuses aborted at a Bombay clinic, 7,999 were female.
Wars today affect civilians most, since they are civil wars, guerrilla actions and ethnic disputes over territory or government. 3 out of 4 fatalities of war are women and children.
Rape is consciously used as a tool of genocide and weapon of war. Tens of thousands of women and girls have been subjected to rape and other sexual violence since the crisis erupted in Darfur in 2003. There is no evidence of anyone being convicted in Darfur for these atrocities.
About 75% of the refugees and internally displaced in the world are women who have lost their families and their homes.
Gender-based violence kills one in three women across the world and is the biggest cause of injury and death to women worldwide, causing more deaths and disability among women aged 15 to 44 than cancer, malaria, traffic accident, and war.

1) Rush Limbaugh didn’t even get her name right…
2) Yes, those are real quotes.
I need to remove some of my friends from facebook apparently. Here is a quote:
Foster Friess (who suggested women put aspirin between their legs as a contraceptive), Rick Santorum (who believes it’s a sin to use birth control) and the people in the ‘moral majority.’
You know what that means, that you need to send a message and make these people stop representing your party and making all of them look like idiots.
Rush was MAKING A POINT, NOT TO BE TAKEN TOO LITERALLY.” Yeah, I better hope it’s not fucking literal to say that women should have to pose in videos online in order to get contraceptives paid for.
*How about we just remove the problem entirely and pay for a surgery to chop off every man’s balls? That would fix the problem too, and then no one would be paying for sex, they’d be paying to neuter people like this asshole. (If you’re a decent guy who isn’t an idiot maybe us Femi-Nazi’s will let you keep your precious jewels) *Sarcasm*
So, all in all, become educated and it’s honestly not worth having idiots like these people in your life or on your facebook. It’s about time to remove the ignorant masses from my life anyway.

(Photo) Militarized police presence at protest against legislative attack on abortion; several days ago in Virginia.
I’d like this a hell of a lot more if there was a source of this picture and which protest it’s from.
http://rvanews.com/news/photos-abortion-protests-lead-to-31-arrests-at-virginia-capital/57311 Here you go.
I would like to point out, that I understand what this image is trying to convey, but no level of security like this should really be at any peaceful protest. That’s all.
I wish I didn’t agree with this. Or more accurately, I wish it wasn’t true.

He [Rick Santorum] is a staunch opponent of abortion, even in the case of rape. Even in the case of rape, telling CNN recently that a woman, in that case, should, and I quote, ‘make the best out of a bad situation, and accept the gift from God.’ Wow. I think women should say the same thing to Santorum, Andy, after from now until the end of his weaselly life, they see him in the street and kick him in the fucking balls. ‘Please accept this gift from God, Rick, this pointed-shoed gift to your plums. Why are you rolling around on the ground crying, Rick? Please make the best out of this bad situation. In fact, rejoice, because I believe another lady is coming over to gift you with another high-velocity nut shot. Praise be, Rick! God is graciously raining gifts into your groinal area, you fucking douche.’

Capitalism has no built-in moral code other than maximizing profits. Whatever morality exists is brought to the table by individuals, but the system itself does not reward compassion; indeed, ruthlessness and cruelty are central features of the game. Capital has been engaged in a long-term struggle to deprive people of access to the resources they need to build a good life for themselves. It creates an environment that allows a small group or even one person to live extremely well on the backs of those whose access to resources they control. Once people become separated from the resources that they need to live, they must re-acquire them on terms favorable to the capitalist. In some cases, the result is modern-day slavery. The separation of people from the resource base is a central theme in the human history of the world and at the heart of our systemic problem today.

So I saw this floating around on facebook the other day. I don’t actually want to comment on this…yet.
But it made me curious about why people want to/don’t want to vote for Obama. (please keep it to Obama only, I’ll ask questions for the republican candidate when the republicans actually pick one)
So, why do you want to vote/not vote for Obama?

“The government isn’t telling religious people do things they think are immoral. They are mandating that professional service providers must do the generally accepted right thing so that society can build a level of trust and expectation around these services.
They’re not telling Catholics they have to dispense birth control, treat gays equally, and so forth. They’re telling pharmacists, and health care providers, and adoption agencies that they have to do it. If being Catholic is more important to you than being a competent professional, then quit. You’re free to do so. There are a lot of other jobs out there where you can adhere to your rigid, antiquated beliefs without screwing up other people’s lives.”
